Music and Interpretation Analysis of the Song Cycle "Songs about Love" by Zdeněk Zouhar

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá písňovým cyklem Písničky o lásce na slova moravské lidové poezie skladatele Zdeňka Zouhara. Práce pojednává o kontextu vzniku tohoto díla a rovněž se zmiňuje o vlivu Bohuslava Martinů, se kterým autor korespondoval. Největší pozornost je však zaměřena na analýzu po hudební, interpretační a textové stránce. V rámci interpretační analýzy je poukázáno na různá úskalí, se kterými se může zpěvák setkat, přičemž jsou navrhnuty možné postupy pro nastudování a úspěšné provedení jednotlivých písní.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the song cycle "Songs about love" to the words of Moravian folk poetry by the composer Zdeněk Zouhar. The thesis discusses the context of the creation of this work and also mentions the influence of Bohuslav Martinů, with whom the author corresponded. However, the greatest attention is focused on the analysis in terms of music, interpretation and text. As part of the interpretive analysis, various pitfalls that the singer may encounter are pointed out, while possible procedures for studying and successfully performing individual songs are suggested.
