Teaching critical thinking: a comparative study

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je rozčleněna na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část definuje kritické myšlení, představuje jej jako proces, vymezuje jeho komponenty a principy a vyjmenovává několik metod jeho rozvoje ve výuce. Dále teorie popisuje situaci ve vzdělávání na středních školách v České republice, Anglii a Finsku. Praktická část na základě teorie identifikuje prvky kritického myšlení v jednotlivých vzdělávacích programech. Cíl práce je porovnání kritického myšlení ve vzdělávacích programech jednotlivých zemích.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part defines critical thinking, introduces it as a process, specifies its components as well as principles, and lists several methods of its development in education. Theory further describes the state of education in high schools in the Czech Republic, England, and Finland. Practical part identifies aspects of critical thinking in curricular programmes. The goal of this thesis is the comparison of critical thinking in curricular programmes among the countries.
