The return to sports in a professional football player with O'Donoghue's triad of the knee: case report

Abstract:

In this thesis, we will observe the clinical case of a professional soccer player with O'Denoghue's triad. We will observe the knee joint from an anatomical and structural point of view and the biomechanical and traumatic causes that can generate this type of pathology. We will see how to arrive to obtain a diagnosis through specific tests and what means are used for an instrumental diagnosis. We will look at the various orthopaedic surgical practices used for this type of injury. We will exhibit a rehabilitation protocol ranging from T0 until the return to play. In the rehabilitation protocol, we will deepen the use of mirror neurons that have been seen as fundamental in the recovery of sporting and motor gesture. We will see the importance of using Hydro-Kinesis-Therapy already in the early stages of rehabilitation. We will make use of the use of isokinetic both in the first phase of joint mobilization and muscle strengthening and at the end for an evaluation of the stability and strength of the muscle component in a lateral control relationship.

Abstract:

In questo lavoro di tesi osserveremo il caso clinico un calciatore professionista con triade di O'Denoghue. Osserveremo dal punto di vista anatomico strutturale l'articolazione del ginocchio e le cause biomeccaniche e traumatiche che fanno si che si presenti questo tipo di patologia. Vedremo come si arriva ad una diagnosi attraverso test specifici e quali mezzi vengono utilizzati per una diagnosi strumentale. Esamineremo le varie pratiche chirurgiche ortopediche utilizzate per questo tipo di infortuni. Esporremo un protocollo riabilitativo che va da T0 a return to play. Nel protocollo riabilitativo approfondiremo l'utilizzo dei neuroni a specchio che si sono visti fondamentali nel recupero del gesto sportivo e motorio. Vedremo l'importanza dell'utilizzo dell'idrokinesiterapia gi? nelle prime fasi della riabilitazione. Ci avvarremo dell'utilizzo dell'isocinetica sia nella prima fase di mobilizzazione articolare, che di rinforzo muscolare e al termine per una valutazione della stabilit? e forza della componete muscolare in relazione al controlaterale.
