Proper Nouns among Specified Words

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá proprii mezi vyjmenovanými slovy. Cílem práce je vytvořit aktuální seznam antroponym a toponym y/ý po obojetných souhláskách. První část je zaměřena na vytváření seznamů obou kategorií. Seznam antroponym vychází z databáze Ministerstva vnitra ČR, která obsahuje počet nositelů jednotlivých jmen, jsou také zkoumány varianty týchž jmen s i/í. Seznam toponym je vytvořen ze seznamu obcí uveřejněném Českým statistickým úřadem, z atlasu ČR a z dalších zdrojů. Je sestaven také seznam zeměpisných jmen nacházejících se mimo ČR. Zeměpisná jména nejsou kompletní, ale v seznamu jsou obsaženy všechny frekventované názvy. V další části je popsána frekvence proprií, která je vyhledána v korpusu SYN verze 7. Nalezená propria a jejich četnost je porovnána s vyjmenovanými slovy a slovy příbuznými uvedenými v Pravidlech českého pravopisu. Seznamy proprií jsou zveřejněny pomocí webové stránky, součástí práce je popis její realizace.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor’s thesis deals with proper nouns among specified words. The goal of this thesis is to create a current list of anthroponyms and toponyms with y/ý after ambivalent consonants. First part of the thesis is focused on creating lists for both categories. The list of anthroponyms is based on the database of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, which contains the number of people with each name, also examined are variants of the same names with i/í. The list of toponyms is created from the list of municipalities published by the Czech Statistical Office, an atlas of the Czech Republic and other sources. A list of geographical names located outside the Czech Republic is also compiled. The list of geographic names is not complete, but all frequent words are included. The next section of the thesis describes the frequency of proper nouns as found in corpus SYN version 7. The found proper nouns and their frequencies are compared with the specified words and their related words in Pravidla českého pravopisu. The lists of proper nouns are published using a website, the description of implementation of which is a part of the thesis.
