Adult attachment, alternative plans, and infidelity in the romantic relationships

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá vlivem vazby v dospělosti a tendencí vytvářet si alternativní plány na nevěru v partnerských vztazích. Dala byla sesbírána na sociální síti Facebook. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 245 žen ve věku 20-30 let. Za využití metod ECR-R-16, Plan B Proclivity scale a Infidelity scale byly zjišťovány míry úzkostnosti a vyhýbavosti, dále tendence k alternativním plánům a nevěře. Hypotézy byly testovány pomocí t-testů a regresivní analýzy. Výsledky odhalily souvislost mezi vazbovou úzkostností a tendencí vytváření si alternativ a také tendencí k nevěře. Při regresivní analýzy tendence vytvářet si alternativní plány vysvětlovala 10,9 % rozptylu nevěry, vazbová úzkostnost a vyhýbavost se ukázaly jako nesignifikatní. Limitem této práce je to, že zkoumaný vzorek není reprezentativní. Podrobněji jsou tato zjištění a její limity rozebrány v diskusi.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the effect of adult attachment and tendency to develop alternative plans to infidelity in romantic relationships. The data were collected through an online questionnaire shared on the social network Facebook. There were 245 women in the age of 20-30, who participated in the research. The levels of anxiety and avoidance, as well as tendency to alternative plans and to infidelity were measured using the methods ECR-R-16, Plan B Proclivity scale and Infidelity scale. The hypotheses were tested by t-tests and regression analysis. The results revealed a link between attachment anxiety and a tendency to develop alternative plans, as well as tendency to infidelity. In regression analysis, the tendency to develop alternative plans explained 10,9 % of the variance of infidelity, attachment anxiety and avoidance proved insignificant. The limit of this thesis is that the sample is not representative. These findings and its limits are discussed in more detail in the discussion part of the thesis.
