International Development Aid to India on the Example of the BREADS Organisation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rozvojovou pomocí v Indii, a to především otázkou, zda by Indie měla i nadále přijímat rozvojovou pomoc a jakou formu by měla tato pomoc mít. Práce obsahuje analýzu indické ekonomiky a jejich největších problémů, na jejichž základě stanovuje, do jakých oblastí by měla rozvojová pomoc směřovat. Dále práce zkoumá, kam směřuje rozvojová pomoc v Indii ve skutečnosti, a současně shrnuje nejčastější oblasti kritiky jejího poskytování. Stěžejní částí práce je případová studie neziskové organizace BREADS, která je určitým doporučením toho, jak by mohla rozvojová spolupráce v Indii vypadat.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on international development aid provided to India, especially on the issue, whether India should continue to receive development aid and what the form of the aid should be. The thesis includes an analysis of the Indian economy and its main problems, on the basis of which the areas shall be set out the development aid should be aimed at. The thesis further examines the fields to which provided assistance is concentrated in fact and it summarizes the main areas of critics of its provision. The main part of the thesis is a case study on a non-governmental organization BREADS, which might be a recommendation what the development aid in India might look like.
