EXTENSIONS OF FUZZY RELATIONAL COMPOSITIONS

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the initial studies of fuzzy relational compositions motivated by their application to the medical diagnosis problem by Bandler and Kohout. We firstly introduce two directions extending these compositions. The first one is the concept of excluding features in fuzzy relational compositions motivated by the existence of excluding symptoms for particular diseases in the medical diagnosis. The second one stems from the possibility to employ intermediate generalized quantifiers over the compositions. In particular, we introduce the concept of fuzzy relational compositions based on fuzzy (generalized) quantifiers. The use of generalized quantifiers is applied not only for compositions but also for images and preimages of fuzzy sets under fuzzy relations. Furthermore, thinking of the two approaches that might be used together to give a more optimal tool, we propose an enhanced method based on joining both of them. The potential of such all the extended methods will be included in the real example of classification of Odonata (dragonflies). Furthermore, in order to improve the results obtained from the experiment, a new method of grouping features applying to the compositions is studied. A combination of such method and the three previous extended ones turns out to be demonstrated for its positive impact on the real experiment. In the end, we present a theoretical study on the solvability of systems of fuzzy relation equations with help of fuzzy quantifiers. As we will see, such systems can be solvable and their solutions are provided in constructing a way.

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se zaměřuje na počáteční studium fuzzy relačních kompozic motivovaných jejich aplikacemi na problém lékařské diagnostiky Bandlerem a Kohoutem. V práci jsou představeny nejprve dva směry rozšiřování těchto kompozic. Prvním je koncept vylučujících charakteristických rysů ve fuzzy relačních kompozicích motivovaných existencí symptomů vylučujících konkrétní nemoci v lékařské diagnóze. Druhá vychází z možnosti využívat mezilehlé obecné kvantifikátory v kompozicích. Konkrétně je představen koncept fuzzy relační kompozice na základě fuzzy (zobecněných) kvantifikátorů. Použití zobecněných kvantifikátorů je použit nejen pro kompozice, ale i pro obrazy fuzzy množiny pod fuzzy relacemi. Dále, s motivací dosáhnout lepších výsledků, byl navržen zdokonalený přístup spočívající v kombinaci obou výše uvedených postupů. Potenciál všech takto rozšířených metod bude zhodnocen na příkladu skutečné klasifikace vážek. Dále, aby se zlepšily výsledky získané v realizovaném experimentu, nová metoda grupování charakteristických rysů aplikovaná na kompozice je také studována. Na realizovaném experimentu je prokázán pozitivní dopad kombinace grupování a tří výše uvedených. Nakonec je představena teoretická studie řešitelnosti systémů fuzzy relačních rovnic s fuzzy kvantifikátory. Bude ukázáno, že takové soustavy mohou být řešitelné a jejich řešení bude prezentováno konstruktivní cestou.
