Russian propaganda in the Czech online environment after the invasion of the Russian troops in Ukraine

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá komparací chování českých dezinformačních serverů v souvislosti s invazí vojsk RF na Ukrajinu. Jejím hlavním cílem je zhodnotit kvantitativní a kvalitativní změny ruské propagandy na české dezinformační scéně po invazi. K jeho naplnění jsou vybrané vzorky článků zkoumány kvantitativními metodami a dále podrobeny analýze manipulativních technik a klíčových slov. Práce je rozdělena do 4 hlavních částí. V první je definován samotný pojem „propaganda“, její dělení a působení v rámci informační války. V následující části jsou představeny nejrelevantnější české dezinformační weby. Je osvětleno jejich pozadí a zaměření. Třetí část se věnuje tématu krize na Ukrajině, která se v posledním roce transformovala v otevřený konflikt s Ruskou federací. Vyobrazení historických souvislostí úzce souvisí s obsahem ruské propagandy. Poslední část je zaměřena na samotnou analýza vybraných webů.

Abstract:

This thesis compares czech disinformation servers' behavior in connection with the invasion of the RF troops in Ukraine. Its main goal is to evaluate Russian propaganda's quantitative and qualitative changes on the Czech disinformation scene after the invasion. To fulfill the primary goal, selected samples of articles are examined using quantitative methods and further subjected to an analysis of manipulative tactics and keywords. The thesis is divided into four main parts. First, the term "propaganda" is defined as its division and action within the information war. The most relevant Czech disinformation websites are presented in the following section. Their background and focus are illuminated. The third part is devoted to the topic of the crisis in Ukraine, which in the last year has transformed into an open conflict with the Russian Federation. The depiction of historical contexts is closely related to the content of Russian propaganda. In the last part, there is an analysis of the selected websites.
