Method of Brain Balance in care of child with ASD and their inclusion in the education systém at elementary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá využitím terapie Brain Balance u dítěte s diagnózou dětský autismus pro rozvoj komunikačních, sociálních a kognitivních dovedností. Je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. První z teoretických částí se věnuje vymezení pojmů z oblasti poruch autistického spektra. Zabývá se také diagnostickými metodami a klasifikací těchto poruch. Druhá část vymezuje pojem komunikace, přibližuje specifika verbální a neverbální komunikace jedinců s PAS a věnuje se také možnostem rozvoje komunikačních a sociálních dovedností těchto jedinců. Ve třetí části je charakterizována terapie pomocí metody Brain Balance, která je využívána ve Spojených státech a popsány její stěžejní metody. Empirická část se zabývá studií případu chlapce s diagnózou dětský autismus, který ve Spojených státech absolvoval terapii pomocí metody Brain Balance. Případová studie zahrnuje osobní i rodinou anamnézu a informace ze zpráv odborných zdravotnických i vzdělávacích zařízení. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty výsledky písemné ankety k případu a stanoveny návrhy pro praxi.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the Brain Balance therapy in a diagnosis of infantile autism and its development of communicative, social and cognitive skills. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first theoretical part deals with the definitions of autism spectrum disorders. It also discusses the diagnostic methods and classification of these disorders. The second part defines the concept of communication, particularities of verbal and nonverbal communication of individuals with ASD and focuses on the possibilities of developing communication and social skills of these individuals. In the third part describes the methods of treatment using Brain Balance, which is used in the United States and described its flagship methods. The empirical part deals with case studies of boys diagnosed with infantile autism, which in the United States attended a treatment method using Brain Balance. Case study includes personal and family medical history and information from the reports of expert medical and educational facilities. In conclusion summarizes the results of a written survey on the case and determined suggestions for practice.
