The Importance of Education in Eliminating the Negative Impact of Automation on Labour Markets in the V4 Countries

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá vlivem automatizace na trhy práce ve státech V4. Tato práce upozorňuje na důležitost vzdělávání lidí v souvislosti s jejich adaptací na nové technologie Průmyslu 4.0. Shlukové analýzy a analýza časových řad byly provedeny na datech, které se týkají počtů pracujících z devíti pracovních skupin v rámci mezinárodní standartní klasifikace povolání ISCO-08. Shluková analýza byla využita k identifikaci vzájemných podobností či odlišností, které se týkaly celkové struktury zaměstnanosti v rámci okruhu devatenácti států Evropské unie. Pomocí analýzy časových řad byly identifikovány změny zaměstnanosti v nejvíce a v nejméně ohrožených skupinách automatizací, a to pro období 2011–2021. Díky panelové regresní analýze byly identifikovány významné demografické a ekonomické faktory z oblasti vzdělávání, které mají vliv na zaměstnanost pracujících v nejméně a nejvíce ohrožených pracovních skupinách automatizací. Na základě výsledků práce byla sepsaná politická doporučení pro tvůrce poli-tiky trhu práce, hospodářské politiky a vzdělávací politiky.

Abstract:

The dissertation deals with the impact of automation on labour markets in the V4 countries. This thesis highlights the importance of training people in the context of their adaptation to the new technologies of Industry 4.0. Cluster and time series analyses were performed on data concerning the number of workers from nine occupational groups within the International Standard Classification of Occupations ISCO-08. The cluster analysis was used to identify similarities or differences between each other that were related to the overall employment structure within the nineteen countries of the European Union. Time series analysis was used to identify changes in employment in the most and least at risk groups for automation for the period 2011-2021. Panel regression analysis was used to identify significant demographic and economic factors in the education sector that affect employment of workers in the least and most at risk occupational groups for automation. Based on the results of the work, policy recommendations were written for labour market, economic and education policy makers.
