Optical monitoring of glucose

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na testování optické metody sledování hladiny glukózy v lidských tkáních. K tomuto účelu využívá senzor SparkFuns triad spectroscopy AS7265x. Skládá se ze čtyř část. První hledá kvalitativní rozdíl v měření lidské tkáně, když je subjekt nalačno a když je nasycen. Druhá část hledá korelace v laboratorních měřeních na roztocích glukózy. Třetí sleduje korelace při měření lidských tkání při použití konvenčního glukometru jako odhadu skutečných hladin glukózy. Data shromážděná ze třetího experimentu se pak použijí v posledním oddílu pro trénování a vyhodnocení tří modelů strojového učení pro predikci hladiny glukózy.

Abstract:

This bachelors‘ thesis is focused on testing an optical method of monitoring glucose levels in human tissues. For this purpose it uses the SparkFuns triad spectroscopy AS7265x sensor. The thesis consists of four parts. The first experiment looks for qualitative difference in human tissue measurements when the subject is fasted vs when is satiated. The second experiment looks for correlations in lab measurements on glucose solutions. The third experiment looks for correlations on human tissue measurements while using conventional glucometer as an estimator of true glucose levels. The data collected from the third experiment are then used in the last part for training and evaluating three machine learning models for glucose levels prediction.
