Interwar Sacral Architecture in Brno

Abstract:

V období mezi lety 1922 až 1923 vzniklo na současném území Brna 11 sakrálních staveb. Jedná se o 4 chrámy římskokatolické církve, 4 sbory Československé církve, o chrám církve pravoslavné a Českobratrské církve evangelické a o židovskou ortodoxní synagogu, kterou si vystavělo hnutí Agudas Achim. V práci se zajímám o náboženskou situaci v Čechách a na Moravě, liturgii a historii jednotlivých církví a hlavní důraz kladu na okolnosti vzniku a podobu jednotlivých, výše jmenovaných sakrálních budov.

Abstract:

There were 11 sacred buildings between the years 1922 and 1923 built in the area where today the town of Brno lies. Four of them were buil by Roman Catholic Church, four by Czechoslovak Church, one by Ortodox Church, one by Czech-brother's Evangelic Church and one is Jewish Ortodox Synagogue built by movement of Agudas Achim. In my work I am interested in religious situation in Bohemia and Moravia, in liturgy and history of particular churches. I lay stress on surrounding cirucumstances of building particular sacred buildings that I mention at the begining of this text.
