Comparative Content Analysis of Magazine Vogue

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma Obsahová a komparativní analýza časopisu Vogue se zabývá československou verzí časopisu Vogue. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části se práce věnuje historickému i současnému postavení tištěných médií, charakteristice ženských časopisů a mediálnímu systému v České republice. Dále zkoumá financování tištěných médií a konkrétně se zaměřuje na charakteristiku inzerce a dalších forem tištěné reklamy. Praktická část se zabývá obsahovou analýzou časopisu Vogue konkrétně z pohledu tištěné inzerce. Součástí praktické části je také vyhodnocení individuálních rozhovorů s vybranými recipienty ze dvou věkových skupin z cílové skupiny časopisu. Cílem práce je zjistit názory a postoje těchto dvou věkových kategorií cílové skupiny časopisu Vogue na tištěnou inzerci v tomto časopise. Mezi další cíle patří zjištění procentuálního zastoupení reklamy v časopise Vogue a ostatních magazínech a porovnání americké a československé verze časopisu Vogue.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis on the topic of Content and comparative analysis of Vogue magazine deals with the Czechoslovakian version of Vogue magazine. The work is divided into a theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part the work pursues some historical and contemporary position of the press, some characteristics of magazines for women and media system in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it explores the funding of the press and specifically it focuses on the characteristics of advertising and other forms of the press advertising. The practical part deals with the content analysis of Vogue magazine, more closely from the point of view of the printed advertising. One part of the practical part is also an assessment of individual interviews with selected recipients from two age groups from the target magazine readers. The goal of the thesis is to ascertain ideas and attitudes of these age groups from the target magazine readers of the printed advertising in this magazine. Among other goals it can be included some percentage determination of adveritisng representation in Vogue magazine and other magazines and comparison of American and Czechoslovakian version of Vogue magazine.
