Abstract:

Snad největší jazzový klavírista šedesátých a sedmdesátých let. Obecně uznáván, coby nejvlivnější pianista od dob Buda Powella. Měl elementární vliv na hráče jako Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, apod. Zasloužil se o rozvoj harmonických a hlasových struktur a stal se průkopníkem takových prvků moderního formátu tria, jako je koncepce tří na sobě nezávislých nástrojů během improvizací a vyhrazení rovnocenného prostoru pro všechny spoluhráče.

Abstract:

Probably the greatest jazz pianist of the Sixties and Seventies. Generally acclaimed as the most influential pianist since the time of Bud Powell. He influenced players such as Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea or Herbie Hancock profoundly. He had merit in the developement of the harmonical and vocal structures and was a pioneer of such elements of the modern format of the jazz trio like equal space for the intermezzos of fellow musicians during imporovisations and the concept of three instruments that are completely independent on each other.
