Physiotherapy of the Knee Joint after an Arthroscopic Meniscectomy

Anotace:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou poranění menisku kolenního kloubu a následnou fyzioterapií po artroskopické parciální menisektomii. Poranění menisku ovlivňuje stabilitu, biomechaniku a funkci kolenního kloubu, jakožto jedno z nejčastějších intraartikulárních poranění kolene. Cílem této práce je shrnout poznatky anatomie a biomechaniky a popsat druhy poranění menisku kolenního kloubu, možnosti diagnostiky a léčby. Zároveň má za cíl popsat rehabilitační postup po artroskopické parciální menisektomii formou kazuistiky pacienta. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na anatomii kolenního kloubu, funkci menisků, mechanismy jejich poranění, diagnostické metody a možnosti konzervativní i operační léčby. Dále se věnuje principům fyzioterapie a rehabilitace po artroskopickém ošetření menisku, včetně návratu k běžné i sportovní aktivitě. Praktická část práce je zpracována formou kazuistiky pacienta po artroskopické parciální menisektomii. Je zde popsáno vstupní i výstupní kineziologické vyšetření, průběh fyzioterapie a zhodnocení efektu rehabilitačního programu. Výsledky práce poukazují na význam včasně zahájené, správně vedené a silně individualizované rehabilitační péče, která je hlavním faktorem pro obnovení plného rozsahu pohybu, svalové síly a funkční stability kolenního kloubu. Správně vedená fyzioterapie zpracovaná s ohledem na individuální potřeby a možnosti pacienta významně přispívá k návratu pacienta k běžným denním i sportovním aktivitám.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis covers the issue of meniscal injuries of the knee joint and subsequent physiotherapy following arthroscopic partial meniscectomy. Meniscal injuries affect the stability, biomechanics and functional ability of the knee joint and represent one of the most common intra-articular injuries of the knee. The aim of this thesis is to summarize current knowledge regarding the anatomy, biomechanics and injuries of the knee meniscus, including diagnostic methods and treatment options. At the same time, the thesis describes the rehabilitation process after arthroscopic partial meniscectomy based on a case study of a patient. The theoretical part focuses on the anatomy of the knee joint, the function of the menisci, mechanisms of meniscal injury, diagnostic methods and possibilities of both conservative and surgical treatment. It also describes the principles of physiotherapy and rehabilitation following arthroscopic treatment of the meniscus, including the return to normal daily and sports activities. The practical part is presented in the form of a case study of a patient after arthroscopic partial meniscectomy. It includes the initial kinesiology examination, the course of physiotherapy and the evaluation of the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program. The results of the thesis highlight the importance of early, individualized and properly guided rehabilitation, which is a key factor in restoring the full range of motion, muscle strength and functional stability of the knee joint. Properly conducted physiotherapy significantly contributes to the patient’s return to both everyday and sports activities.
