The Collection of the Popular Prose Romances in the Petr Bezruč Memorial of the Silesian Museum

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je průzkum knížek lidového čtení uložených v Památníku Petra Bezruče v Opavě. Práce se nejprve zabývá vymezením pojmu knížky lidového čtení, poté je představena osobnost sběratele Vincence Praska i tiskaře Josefa Antonína Škarnicla, jejichž jména úzce souvisí s knížkami ve fondu Památníku Petra Bezruče. Knížky jsou následně rozděleny na praktické a výpravné, přičemž větší pozornost je věnována tiskům výpravným. Ty jsou roztříděny do kategorií. Děleny jsou podle tématu na světské a náboženské, světské jsou dále děleny podle funkce. Zejména se zaměřujeme na lokalizaci příběhů, stáří látek i jejich autory. Závěr práce je věnován přídavkům a přítiskům. Přílohy obsahují podrobný soupis knížek výpravných a praktických i rejstřík motivů výpravných knížek.

Abstract:

This master thesis is focused on research into the popular prose romances placed in the Petr Bezruč memorial in Opava. The thesis starts with the definition of the term popular prose romances, followed by the brief introduction of a collector Vincenc Prasek and a printer Josef Antonín Škarnicl. They are closely related to the books in the collection of the Petr Bezruč memorial. The popular prose romances are split into practical and narrative books, more attention is paid to the narrative books. Subsequently, the narrative books are divided into secular and religious prose, secular prose is further sort by the function. We focus particularly on the localization and age of the stories, just as the authorship of the books. At the end the work deals with texts which follow the main stories. This master thesis ends with supplements, which provide a list of all narrative books as well as an index of topics.
