Translators´ Adventures in Wonderland: Creativity in L. Carroll´s work translations
Abstract:
Puns in the novel Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and in its two Czech translations by Jaroslav Císař and Aloys and Hana Skoumals are brought into focus in this diploma thesis. This thesis analyzes the original puns and compares them with their Czech counterparts. Its aim is the analysis of different translation solutions and translating strategies to wordplay.
Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce se zabývá slovními hříčkami v knize Lewise Carrolla Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland a v jejich dvou českých překladech od Jaroslava Císře a Aloyse a Hany Skoumalových. Tato práce analyzuje původní slovní hříčky a srovnává je s jejími českými protějšky. Cílem je analýza překladatelských řešení a strategií použitých při překladu slovních hříček.
