The influence of policemen's rating on their work motivation

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se autor zabývá hodnocením policistů vybraných obvodních oddělení Policie České republiky a jejich motivací k výkonu služby. Cílem práce je nalezení vztahu mezi hodnocením a pracovní motivací těchto policistů. V teoretické části autor shrnuje teoretické poznatky z oblasti pracovní motivace, řízení lidských zdrojů a pracovního hodnocení. V empirické části práce uvádí zvolenou výzkumnou strategii a představuje vybraná obvodní oddělení policie. Dále se věnuje zpracování kvalitativního výzkumu. Sběr dat byl proveden nejen pomocí rozhovorů s vedoucími a jejich podřízenými, ale i analýzou dokumentů. Výsledky výzkumu ukazují motivátory, které policisté nejvíce upřednostňují a poskytují náhled na systém hodnocení policistů a jeho propojení se systémem odměňování, vzdělávání a vnitropodnikové mobility. Na základě výsledků výzkumu je dále popsáno, jak pracovní hodnocení ovlivňuje pracovní motivaci policistů. Závěrem pak autor uvádí doporučení k posílení motivace policistů ve vztahu k pracovnímu hodnocení.

Abstract:

In this diploma thesis, there has been discussed the evaluation of the selected Police District Department in the Czech Republic and its motivation to perform the services. The main aim is to find the relationship between evaluation and motivation close to work of police officers. In the theoretical part, there has been summarized the theoretical knowledge in the field of work motivation, human resources management and performance evaluation. In the empirical part of the thesis, there have been selected the research strategies representing above mentioned district police department. It also discusses the process of qualitative research. Data collection was carried out through interviews with managers and their subordinates, as well as analyzed of documents. The research has shown motivators preferred by most officers and providing insight into the evaluation system of police and its integration with compensation, training and internal mobility. Based on the research results there has been also described how the job performance affecting the motivation of police officers. Finally, the author has described a few recommendations, which could help to strengthen the motivation of police officers in relation to the work assessment.
