Types of emergencies and the specific role of the medical rescue service during emergencies with mass disabilities

Abstract:

Záměrem této diplomové práce bylo vytvořit souhrnný přehled o mimořádných událostech se zaměřením na specifika zdravotnické záchranné služby při mimořádné události s hromadným postižením osob. Teoretická část práce obsahuje základní pojmy a příslušnou legislativu. Jednotlivé kapitoly zahrnují souhrnné informace o integrovaném záchranném systému a pozici zdravotnické záchranné služby při řešení mimořádných události s důrazem na mimořádnou událost s hromadným postižením osob. Práce pojednává o přijmutí výzvy na zdravotnickém operačním středisku, hlášení výjezdových posádek z místa události a struktury řízení mimořádné události. Výzkumné šetření probíhalo za využití kvalitativní metody pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru se zaměřením na problematiku mimořádných událostí s hromadným postižením osob, třídění pacientů a osobní zkušenosti pracovníků Zdravotnické záchranné služby Jihočeského kraje s mimořádnými událostmi. Po podrobném analyzovaní rozhovorů vyplynulo, že nadpoloviční většina informantů má dostatečnou až nadprůměrnou výši teoretických znalostí v této problematice. Na velmi dobré úrovni byly vědomosti zdravotnických záchranářů týkající se obecného přehledu a třídících metod (START, Identifikační a třídící karta). Naopak nižší znalosti se projevily v problematice traumatologického plánování. Většina dotazovaných zdravotnických záchranářů poukázala na dobrou teoretickou výuku, v rámci přípravy na řešení mimořádné události, avšak dotazovaní zdůraznili, že by bylo potřeba zvýšit četnost praktické výuky. Jistě by pomohla zejména úprava školení a praktických nácviků pro současné potřeby zdravotnických záchranářů.

Abstract:

The aim of the present diploma thesis was forming a general list about emergencies focused on specifics of emergency medical service with mass disability. The theoretical part includes basic terms and legistative. The individual chapters include summary information about the integrated rescue system and the position of the emergency medical service in dealing with emergencies with an emphasis on an emergency with a mass disability. The work deals with the acceptance of the call at the medical operating center, the reporting of departure crews from the place of occurrence and the emergency management structure. The research was done using a qualitative method using a semi-structured interview focusing on the issue of emergencies with mass disabilities, patient classification and personal experience of the staff of the Medical Rescue Service of the South Bohemia with emergencies. After a detailed analysis of the interviews, we realized that the majority of informants have a sufficient to above-average amount of theoretical knowledge in this area. The knowledge of paramedics regarding the general overview and sorting methods (START, Identification and sorting card) was at a very good level. On the contrary, lower knowledge was reflected in the issue of trauma planning. Most of the interviewed paramedics pointed to good theoretical teaching, in preparation for dealing with an emergency, but the respondents emphasized the need to increase the frequency of practical training. Adapting training and practical exercises for the current needs of paramedics would certainly help.
