The Physical And Data Link Layer Of The Profibus Interface

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá rozhraní Profibus. Práce pojednává o jednotlivý variantách tohoto rozhraní, jejich zvláštnostech a použití. Dále popisuje práci jednotlivý vrstev v rámci ISO/OSI modelu. Profibus pracuje pouze se třemi vrstvami - fyzickou, linkovou a aplikační. V rámci této práce je navržena fyzická vstrva pro variantu Profibus PA. Jedná se v podstatě o kodér a dekodér Manchester kódu. Machester kód je zde do podrobna analyzován. Návrh fyzické vstvy byl vytvořen v programovacím jazyce ABEL-HDL. Výsledné obvod byl podroben různým kombinacím vstupů a výsledky jsou zde také popsány.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the Profibus interface. It explores individual variants of this interface, his specificities and applications. It also describes the work of individual layers within the ISO/OSI model. Profibus interface uses only these three layers ? physical, data link and application. This thesis is focused on designing physical layer for Profibus PA variant. It is basically about encoding and decoding the Manchester code. The Manchester code is analysed very carefully in this thesis. The physical layer design was created in ABEL-HDL programming language. The resulting circuit was subjected to different input combinations and the final results are presented in the end of the thesis.
