Child tax relief in the member states of the European Union

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je stanovení štědrosti daňových zvýhodnění na vyživované děti ve vybraných státech Evropské unie. V první části práce je definována rodinná politika jednotlivých států a její cíle. Na to navazuje proniknutí do systému daňového zvýhodnění na děti v České republice, včetně jeho historického vývoje. Ve třetí části je pak popis jednotlivých daňových úlev na děti ve vybraných členských státech Evropské unie, zatímco poslední kapitola se věnuje samotnému výpočtu štědrosti těchto daňových zvýhodnění pro rodiny. Štědrost je vypočtena jako poměr daňové úspory k průměrné mzdě za rok 2018. Na základě výsledků je zhodnocena daňová štědrost států vůči rodinám s dětmi.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine the advantage of child tax relief in the member states of the European Union. The first part of this thesis defines family policy of the particular states and its purposes which is followed with a connection to child relief tax system in the Czech Republic as well as its historical progress in the second part of this thesis. The third part describes the individual child tax relief in the selected member states of the European Union. The bachelor thesis is being closed with the calculation of the advantage of child tax relief for families of the selected states. The calculations are accomplished by a ratio of tax savings to the average salary in 2018. Based on these results, I assessed the countries which are the most generous to the families.
