Use of material didactic instruments for raising efficiency in the tuition of mathematics at elementary schools

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na materiálně-didaktické prostředky použitelné při výuce matematiky na 2. stupni základní školy a je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. První kapitola teoretické části je všeobecným přehledem o materiálně-didaktických prostředcích a jejich postavení v edukačním procesu. Dále rozebírám učební pomůcky, didaktickou techniku a vybavení učitele a žáka typické pro hodiny matematiky. V páté kapitole se zaměřuji na využití běžně dostupných prostředků (např. papíru, milimetrového papíru apod.). Další část pojednává o výukových prostorech a jejich vybavení. V předposlední kapitole se seznámíme s možnostmi, jak lze materiálně-didaktické prostředky pro výuku matematiky zajistit. Poslední teoretická kapitola je věnována tématům vhodným k zařazení různých druhů materiálně-didaktických prostředků. Výzkumná část je rozdělena do dvou oblastí. V první zjišťuji pomocí dotazníku úroveň vybavení škol materiálně-didaktickými prostředky a jejich využívání učiteli matematiky. Součástí je i ověření mnou stanovených hypotéz. Ve druhé praktické kapitole jsem podrobila analýze vybrané řady učebnic tohoto předmětu.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on material didactic instruments usable in the tuition of mathematics at second-level elementary schools and is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The first chapter of the theoretical part presents a general review of material didactic instruments and their place in the educational process. I analyse tuition tools, didactic technique and the teacher?s and pupil?s requisites typical for maths lessons. In the fifth chapter I deal with the use of currently available materials (e.g. paper, graph-paper, etc.). The next part concerns itself with the classrooms and their furnishing and equipment. The last chapter describes possibilities of providing material didactic instruments for maths tuition. The last theoretical chapter is devoted to subjects suitable for the inclusion of different kinds of material didactic instruments. The research part is divided into two areas. In the first I ascertain, with the help of questionnaires, the standard of material didactic instruments in schools and their use by maths teachers. Part of it is the verification of hypotheses set out by myself. In the other practical chapter I analyzed selected series of maths textbooks.
