Exploring Geuder Differences in American Basketball: Equal Pay for Equal Play?
Abstract:
V mé bakalářské práci se zabývám americkým basketbalem – dvěma nejvyššími profesionálními soutěžemi – NBA a WNBA. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První část je obecně o historii obou soutěží, financích, rozdílech v pravidlech, návštěvnosti na zapasech, rozdílu v platech mužů a žen, rozdíl v rovnosti mužů a žen ve sportu a o “Článku IX”. Ve druhé části jsou soutěže s pomocí těchto dat porovnávány.
Abstract:
In my bachelor thesis I deal with american basketball – with two best professional leagues the NBA and the WNBA. The thesis is devided into two parts. In the first part, there is in general about the history of both leagues, finances, differences in rules, attendance on games, gender gap in earnings, gender equity in sports and about Title IX.
