The image of the countryside in the Czech prose for children and teenagers from 1945 till 1999

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje obrazu venkova v české próze pro děti a mládež od roku 1945 do roku 1999, navíc poskytuje tematickou bibliografii z uvedeného období. V první části práce je objasněno mé pojetí venkova a celková bibliografie je subtematicky rozdělena dle kritéria času příběhu, místa venkova v jeho proměnách a kontrastech, důrazu na různé aspekty venkovského života a uchopení venkovské reality. V druhé části práce je skrz analýzy reprezentativních titulů sledován vývoj čtyř vybraných subtematických celků (idylický venkov, realistický venkov, druhá světová válka a venkov, budování socialismu na venkově), které nabízí různý pohled na venkovský život v próze pro děti a mládež, což bylo cílem mé diplomové práce. V analýzách se práce zaměřuje na vnímání vesnice jako prostoru, ale také vztahů mezi lidmi, poutem mezi člověkem a zvířetem, analyzuje rozdíly mezi městem a venkovem a zaměřuje se i na důležité instituce ve vsi (škola, kostel, hospoda).

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the image of the countryside in Czech prose for children and teenagers from 1945 till 1999. It also presents topical bibliography for this period. The first part of the thesis provides clarification of my conception of the countryside and the bibliography. The bibliography is divided into subtopics according to the time of the story, the countryside in its transformations and contrasts, stress to the different aspects of the rural life and rural reality. The second part analyses chosen books, which are divided into subtopical units (the idyllic countryside, the realistic countryside, Second World War and the countryside, constructing socialism in the countryside), which show different perspectives of the rural life in the prose for children and teenagers. The analyses focus on perception of the countryside as space, but it also studies relationships between people, relationship between a person and an animal. Furthermore, it analyses differences between the town and the countryside as well as it focuses on the important institution in the village (a school, a church, an inn).
