The role of Starostové pro Liberecký kraj in the formation and establishment of STAN

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se věnuje hnutí Starostové a nezávislí a hnutí SLK jako nejsilnější krajské straně v ČR. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních kapitol doplněných o ilustrující tabulky, grafy a mapy. První kapitola se zabývá hnutím Starostové a nezávislí, vznikem hnutí NSK, jeho prvními volbami a následnou transformací na celorepublikové hnutí STAN. Druhá kapitola popisuje politickým vývojem hnutí STAN skrze jeho dvě spolupráce se stranou TOP 09, následným samostatným působením v Poslanecké sněmovně, koalicí s Piráty a nynější účasti na vládě Petra Fialy. Třetí kapitola se věnuje samostatnému hnutí Starostové pro Liberecký kraj, vysvětluje jeho vztah se STAN a také se zabývá volebním chováním v Libereckém kraji. V poslední kapitole jsou rozebrány výsledky z krajských voleb mezi lety 2008 až 2020, kdy se konaly poslední volby do krajských zastupitelstev. Hlavní otázkou práce je, jaký je důvod tak vysokého a kontinuálního úspěchu SLK narozdíl od ostatních krajských frakcí hnutí STAN.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor's thesis is devoted to the Mayors and independents movement and the SLK movement as the strongest regional party in the Czech Republic. The work is divided into four main chapters supplemented by illustrative tables, graphs and maps. The first chapter deals with the Mayors and independents movement, the creation of the NSK movement, its first elections and the subsequent transformation into the nationwide STAN movement. The second chapter describes the political development of the STAN movement through its two collaborations with the TOP 09 party, subsequent independent work in the Chamber of Deputies, the coalition with the Pirates and the current participation in the government of Petr Fiala. The third chapter is dedicated to the independent movement of Mayors for the Liberec Region, explains its relationship with STAN and also deals with electoral behavior in the Liberec Region. In the last chapter, the results of the regional elections between 2008 and 2020, when the last regional council elections were held, are discussed. The main question of the work is what is the reason for such a high and continuous success of the SLK in contrast to other regional factions of the STAN movement.
