Specifics of Diversity Management in the Engineering Industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou diverzity managementu ve vybraných strojírenských podnicích. Cílem práce je formulace návrhů a doporučení v oblasti diverzity managementu s důrazem na age a gender management ve strojírenských firmách Jihomoravského kraje. V úvodu práce jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy, argumenty a postup implementace diverzity managementu do praxe. Vlastní práce se skládá z kvalitativního a kvantitativního výzkumu. V rámci kvalitativního výzkumu bylo realizováno 8 semistrukturovaných rozhovorů s pracovníky středního a vrcholového managementu. Kvantitativní výzkum je založen na dotazníkovém šetření a statistické analýze získaných dat v programu Statistica 12. Na základě výsledků jsou v závěru práce navržena doporučení včetně jejich přínosů a ekonomického zhodnocení.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with the matter of management diversity in chosen engineering companies. The goal of this paper is to formulate proposals and suggestions in the field of diversity management with emphasis on age and gender management in engineering companies in the South Moravian region. The first part of the thesis explains basic terms, arguments and process of diversity management implementation. The thesis consists of qualitative and quantitative research. Within the qualitative research eight semi-structured interviews with employees of middle and top management were taken. Quantitative research is based on questionnarie survey and statistical analysis of data that were gained in program Statistica 12. In the conclusion the author considers the results and based on them suggests recommendations including their benefits and economic appreciation.
