Economic policy of Poland in a period of the economic crisis of early 21st century

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zevrubná analýza polské ekonomiky v období před a po vypuknutí finanční krize a hospodářsko-politických opatření vlády přijatých v reakci na krizi. První část se zabývá vývojem polské ekonomiky mezi lety 2004-2007. Popisuje vývoj hlavních makroekonomických indikátorů, charakteristiky polské ekonomiky a zmíněna jsou některá opatření fiskální a monetární politiky. Druhá část se zaměřuje na polskou ekonomiku od vypuknutí světové finanční krize v roce 2008 do současnosti. Jsou zde uvedena opatření, které přijala polská vláda v reakci na krizi a její makroekonomická hospodářská politika. V závěru kapitoly je popsán přístup polské vlády k přijetí společné evropské měny a jsou vyzdviženy hlavní prvky úspěchu polské ekonomiky v krizi.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide a thorough analysis of the Polish economy during the period before and after the outbreak of the finacial crisis and also the analysis of the economical and political measures adopted by the government in reaction to the crisis. The first part deals with the development of the Polish economy between the years 2004 and 2007. In this part, the macroeconomic indicators and characteristics of the Polish economy are described and several measures of the fiscal and monetary policy are mentioned as well. The second part focuses on the Polish economy since the breakout of the global financial crisis in 2008 up to the present day. Furthermore, the measures adopted by the Polish government as a reaction to the crisis and the macroeconomic policy are mentioned. At the end of the chapter, I described the attitude of the Polish government towards the adoption of a Common European Currency and highlighted the main components of the success of the Polish economy in the crisis.
