A Digital Landscape Model of Zlín and the Surrounding Area\nl{}

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je vytvoření digitálního modelu krajiny Zlína a blízkého okolí z období 19. století. Bakalářská práce se skládá z několika částí. Teoretická část obsahuje popis možností pro získávání nadmořských výšek vzhledem k zeměpisným polohám. Dále obsahuje charakteristiku programu MicroDEM, zejména nástrojů týkajících se zpracování vstupních dat a získání výškové mapy. Taktéž jsou zde popsány materiály znázorňující krajinu v minulosti, kde hlavní pozornost je věnována katastrálním mapám a dobovým materiálům. Pro úplnost jsou zde charakterizovány použité programy Blender a GIMP, které byly při tvorbě modelu využity. Jejich popis je zaměřen výhradně na nástroje související s tvorbou 3D objektů podle výškové mapy, editací textur a aplikací textur pomocí UV mapování. Praktická část obsahuje souhrnný popis tvorby modelu krajiny a demonstrační vyrenderované výstupy pro srovnání s dostupnými dobovými materiály i se současnou podobou krajiny Zlína.\nl{}

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the creation of a digital model, representing the landscape of the city Zlín and its surroundings in the 19th century. The bachelor theses consists of several parts. Theoretical part contains description of possibilities to obtain the altitudes in required areas. Next, the theses contains the characteristics of the MicroDEM software, mainly the tools for data processing and creation of a height map. The sources, representing the landscape in the past are shown, with the focus on period maps. Blender and GIMP, used in the creation of model are also described. These descriptions are limited to tools required for the creation of 3D objects using height maps, editing of textures and UV mapping. The practical part contains exhaustive description of creation of the landscape model and outputs. These are rendered to be compared with available period maps and also the actual, current appearance of Zlín.\nl{}
