V úvodu této práce je vymezena oblast medicínského práva, jeho právních pramenů a zásad. Dále je dán prostor lékařské etice a vztahu pacienta a lékaře. Hlavní náplní jsou pak práva pacientů, rozbor jejich právní úpravy a také srovnání, jak je tato právní úprava aplikována v praxi. Podrobněji je rozebrána problematika informovaného souhlasu pacienta. At the beginning of this thesis is defined the area of medical law, legal sources and principles. Furthermore, the place is given to medical ethics and relationship of doctor-patient.
