Omnia Cordis habet. Sons and daughters of Jaroslav Bořita of Martinice

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá potomky Jaroslava Bořity z Martinic (1582-1649). Jeho synové obsadili v 17. století nejvyšší politické úřady v království a stali se tak jedním z nejmocnějších aristokratických rodů v Čechách. Dcery Jaroslava Bořity byly provdány za přední šlechtice a společně se svými manžely podporovaly stejně jako jejich bratři jednotlivé církevní organizace. Práce je tak příspěvkem k poznání starých českých šlechtických rodů v pobělohorské éře. Na všechny potomky je pohlíženo ve třech okruzích zájmu, které se mezi sebou často prolínají. Prvním blokem je vztah potomků k rodině, kde je řešena jejich spolupráce, návaznost na rodovou tradici a vzájemná komunikace. Druhou linií, kterou práce sleduje, je politická kariéra synů Jaroslava Bořity. Třetí, poslední, je pak vztah všech potomků k církvi. Pozornost je věnována jak církevní kariéře jednoho ze synů, tak jednotlivým fundacím dalších Martiniců.

Abstract:

This Diploma Thesis deals with the descendants of Jaroslav Bořita of Martinice (1582-1649). In the 17th century, his sons occupied the highest political offices in the kingdom and thus they became one of the most powerful aristocratic families in Bohemia. Daughters of Jaroslav Bořita were married to leading noblemen and together with their husbands they supported individual church organisations, as did their brothers. The Thesis is therefore a contribution to knowledge of old Czech aristocratic families in the post-White Mountain era. All descendants are seen in three areas of interest, which often blend together. The first block is the relationship of the descendants with the family, where their cooperation, connection to family tradition and mutual communication are addressed. The second line that the Thesis pursues is the political career of the sons of Jaroslav Bořita. The third and the last one is the relationship of all descendants to the church. The attention is paid both to the church career of one of the sons and to individual foundations of other members of the Martinic family.
