Credit risk management of the corporate clients in the commercial bank in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Posláním této práce je popsání úvěrového rizika, možnosti jeho vzniku a především způsobů jeho předcházení a omezování. V této práci charakterizuji možná rizika, která mohou vzniknout při úvěrových obchodech bank, formy regulování těchto rizik a zejména finanční analýzu klienta, což je jedna z nejvíce důležitých forem při jejich snižování. Cílem práce je zaměřit se na finanční a kvalitativní analýzu, jako nástroj využívaný při řízení úvěrového rizika banky a z toho vyplývající rating sloužící k hodnocení rizika v úvěrových obchodech bank. Dále pak práce řeší legislativní formu řízení rizik a kontrolu v podobě bankovní regulace a bankovního dohledu. Jsou zde také uvedena nová pravidla kapitálové přiměřenosti, která jsou spojena s BASEL II. Práce též popisuje úvěruhodnost, úvěruschopnost a metodu ratingových procesů. Vysvětluje pojmy jako je customer rating, collateral rating či overall rating. Součástí práce je analýza klienta v praxi, která je provedena na příkladu vybraného anonymního podniku.

Abstract:

The pursuit of this thesis is to describe credit risk, possibilities of its origin and above all, the methods of prevention. I characterize possible risks, that can occur with approval of bank loans, forms of regulation of these risks and especially, I characterize financial analysis of the client, which is the most important aspect of reducing risk. The objective of my thesis is to concentrate on financial and qualitative analysis, as the instrument used in risk management of the bank, and the rating which results from above mentioned risk management and which is used to evaluate risks in credit markets. Furthermore, the thesis describes legislative form of risk management and control in the form of bank regulation and supervision. New rules of capital reserves, which are connected to BASEL II are also presented here. Further, I describe creditworthiness and method of rating processes. In my thesis I also explain terms such as customer rating, collateral rating or overall rating. Essential part of my thesis is also analysis of client in real world, which is carried out on example of anonymously chosen company.
