Using the Principles of Behavioral Economics to Increase the Academic Success of High School Students

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na využití principů behaviorální ekonomie ke zvýšení studijní úspěšnosti žáků středních škol. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. Teoretická část vychází ze srovnání klasické ekonomie a behaviorální ekonomie. Je zde také zahrnut legislativní rámec ve sledované oblasti veřejné politiky a jeho propojení s prvky behaviorální ekonomie. V praktické části jsou zveřejněny konkrétní příklady využití behaviorálních prvků ve veřejné politice, realizace vlastního výzkumu a dopad implementovaných zásad, který je posuzován z pohledu žáka jako účastníka experimentu. Cílem této práce bylo poukázat na pozitivní dopad behaviorálních zásad v oblasti vzdělávání a poskytnout možné řešení některých problémů školního neúspěchu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the use of the principles of behavioural economics to increase the academic success of high school students. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is based on a comparison of classical economics and behavioural economics. The theoretical part also includes the legislative framework in the monitored area of public policy and its connection with elements of behavioural economics. The practical part publishes specific examples of the use of behavioural principles in public policy, the results of own experiment, and the impact of the implemented principles, which is assessed from the perspective of the student as a participant in the experiment. The aim of this work was to point out the positive impact of behavioural principles in the field of education and to provide a possible solution to some problems of school failure.
