Softvérové projekty sú náchylné na zlyhanie v systematickom zmysle pretože zúčastnené strany spracúvávajú a zdieľajú informácie tak, že priebeh projektu je negatívne ovplyvnený. Dve vysvetľujúce spôsoby spracovávania informácií sú prezentované.
