The informal care of a person suffering Alzheimer's disease in his home environment

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zmapovat situaci neformálních pečovatelů, kteří pečují o člověka postiženého Alzheimerovou chorobou v jeho přirozeném sociálním prostředí. Práce je rozčleněná do šesti kapitol. První tři kapitoly se věnují teorii, další tři výzkumu. V první kapitole popisuji, jaký vliv má primární demence na život člověka, kterého postihne. Druhou kapitolu věnuji neformálním pečovatelům, včetně jejich postavení v postmoderní společnosti a nárokům, které na ně klade dlouhodobá péče. Ve třetí kapitole shrnují dostupné možnosti pomoci a podpory neformálním pečovatelům. Čtvrtou kapitolou začíná výzkumná část, jejímž cílem je objasnění zkušeností neformálních pečovatelů s péčí o člověka postiženého primární demencí v jeho přirozeném sociálním prostředí, s důrazem na identifikaci těžkostí, se kterými se při péči potýkají. Ve čtvrté kapitole obhajuji volbu výzkumné strategie a popisuji design výzkumu. Pátou kapitolu věnuji analýze a interpretaci dat. Šestou kapitolu diskuzi výsledků výzkumu s teoretickou částí diplomové práce. Výzkum je postaven na analýze polostrukturovaných rozhovorů pomocí otevřeného kódování a metody vytváření trsů.

Abstract:

The goal of diploma thesis is to map the situation of informal caregivers who care of a person suffering Alzheimer's disease in his home environment. The work is divided into six chapters. The first three chapters deal with theory, the other three with research. In the first chapter I describe the influence of primary dementia on the life of the person it affects. The second chapter is devoted to informal caregivers, including their position in postmodern society and the demands that long-term care places on them. The third chapter summarizes available support options for informal caregivers. The fourth chapter begins a research. It clarifies the experiences of informal carers with care of people suffering primary dementia in their home environment, with an emphasis on identifying the difficulties what care produces. In the fourth chapter I advocate the choice of the research strategy and I describe the research design. The fifth chapter analyses and interprets data. The sixth chapter discusses research results with the theoretical part of the thesis. The research is based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews using open coding and clustering.
