Using of bankruptcy and creditworthiness models for assessing the financial health of SMEs

Abstract:

MSP tvoří nesmírně velkou část národních a globálních ekonomik, ale v praxi se potkávají s různými problémy. Finance jsou důležitým aspektem podnikání, který láká pozornost stakeholderů. Finanční zdraví je nezbytnou podmínkou pro rozvoj MSP, které si volí inovační cestu rozvoje a potřebují k tomu dlouhodobé financování. Cílem práce je hodnocení finančního zdraví vybraných podniků ze segmentu MSP ve zpracovatelském průmyslu (Stavoklima, s.r.o., Mandík, a.s., TCF Vzduchotechnika, s.r.o.). Dílčími cíli práce jsou porovnání výsledků hodnocení za použití několika bankrotních a bonitních modelů a návrh doporučení pro oblast finančního řízení vybraných podniků. V práci jsou aplikovány metody vertikální a horizontální analýzy, výpočet poměrových ukazatelů, aplikace Grünwaldova modelu a výpočet indexu IN05 za použití dat z účetních výkazů z období 2015-2019. Na základě výsledků analýz je pro podniky doporučena strategie expanze. Nejlepší hodnocení finančního zdraví mají podniky Mandík, a.s. a Stavoklima, s.r.o. Pro podnik TCF Vzduchotechnika je zejména vhodné získání investic na vylepšení struktury majetku, rozšíření zákaznické základny a portfolia produktů. Po porovnání využití různých modelů hodnocení finančního zdraví lze udělat závěr, že diagnostický test IN05 je vhodnější pro hodnocení finančního zdraví MSP než Grünwaldův model.

Abstract:

SMEs make up an enormous part of national and global economies, but in practice they face various challenges. Finance is an important aspect of business that attracts the attention of stakeholders. Financial health is a necessary condition for the development of SMEs, which choose an innovative path of development and need long-term financing. The aim of the work is to evaluate the financial health of selected companies from the segment of SMEs in the manufacturing industry (Stavoklima, s.r.o., Mandík, a.s., TCF Vzduchotechnika, s.r.o.). The partial goals of the work are to compare the results of evaluation using several bankruptcy and creditworthiness models and to propose recommendations for the area of financial management of selected companies. The work applies methods of vertical and horizontal analysis, calculation of ratios, application of Grünwald's model and calculation of the IN05 index using data from financial statements from the period 2015-2019. Based on the results of the analyzes, an expansion strategy is recommended for companies. The companies Mandík, a.s. and Stavoklima, s.r.o. have better financial helath in comparison. For TCF Vzduchotechnika, it is especially suitable to obtain investments to improve the structure of assets, expand the customer base and product portfolio. After comparing the use of different models of financial health assessment, it can be concluded that the diagnostic test IN05 is more suitable for assessing the financial health of SMEs than the Grünwald model.
