The public financing of the sports sector - case study

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaobírá financováním sportovní sféry z veřejných rozpočtů. Hlavním cílem této práce je zmapovat a zhodnotit současný stav financování sportu z veřejných rozpočtů v České republice s detailnějším zaměřením na financování sportu v městě Sušice a navrhnout opatření na zlepšení stávající situace. V první části je vysvětlen význam sportu a jsou vymezeny důvody financování sportu z veřejných rozpočtů. V druhé kapitole jsou popsány současné mechanismy financování sportu v České republice se závěrem nedostatečné podpory ze státního rozpočtu. V třetí části je provedena analýza grantového programu města Sušice a příspěvkové organizace Sportoviště města Sušice s dokázáním, že splňují své stanovené cíle. K dosažení těchto závěrů byla použita metoda základní statistické analýzy sekundárních dat. Na závěr jsou navrženy možnosti na zlepšení nynější situace financování sportu ve městě Sušice, která by mohla napomoci dobře fungující systém ještě zlepšit.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the public financing of the sports sector. The main objective of this thesis is to monitor and evaluate the current state of sports public funding in the Czech Republic with a detailed focus on sports funding in Sušice and propose measures to improve the current situation. The first part explains the importance of sport and the reasons for sports funding from public budgets are defined. The second chapter describes the current mechanisms of sport financing in the Czech Republic, with finding of insufficient support from the state budget. The third part is an analysis of the grant program of the town Sušice and semi-budgetary organization The Sports facilities of Sušice concluding their stated objectives are being met. In order to reach these outputs the method of basic statistical analysis of secondary data has been used. At the conclusion options to improve the present situation of sports funding in Sušice are proposed, which could even help to improve a well-functioning system.
