Holy Trinity Church in Jindřichův Hradec. Architecture and decoration

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá hřbitovním kostelem Nejsvětější Trojice v Jindřichově Hradci a jeho bohatou uměleckou výzdobou. Kostel byl postaven v letech 1590 – 1594 a patří mezi pozdně renesanční historizující stavby korporativní fundace. Velmi cenná je Pirchanská kaple, která byla přistavěna ke kostelu v roce 1597 a stala se pohřebištěm jedné měšťanské rodiny. Práce se také zabývá uměleckým vybavením kostela a kaple z 16. – 19. století. V závěru je stavba začleněna do kontextu české renesanční architektury kolem roku 1600.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the cemetery Holy Trinity Church in Jindřichův Hradec and its rich decoration. The church was built between years 1590 – 1594 and it belongs among late Renaissance style buildings of corporate foundation. Very valuable is the Pirchan chapel, which was added to the church in 1597 and became the burial place of a wealthy townspeople family. The work also deals with the art furnishings of the church and of the chapel from the 16th to 19th century. At the end of the thesis the building is incorporated into the context of Czech Renaissance architecture around 1600.
