Sibling relationships of seniors

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá tématem sourozeneckých vztahů seniorů. Práce je členěna na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část se nejprve zabývá obecnými poznatky o stáří a stárnutí a je doplněna o demografické údaje seniorské populace, které jsou úzce propojeny s otázkou stárnutí populace. Další kapitola se věnuje kvalitě života seniorů, která má přímou vazbu na sociální vztahy seniorů, a tedy i ty sourozenecké. Následující kapitola se pak zabývá seniory v kontextu rodinných vztahů. Od této kapitoly pak přechází ke kapitole věnující se vymezení sourozenectví a také vývoji tohoto vztahu v průběhu života, kde zvláštní pozornost získává sourozenectví ve stáří. Empirická část této práce začíná popisem metodologie práce a následně se zabývá analýzou kvalitativního výzkumného šetření, které bylo organizováno s cílem získat odpověď na výzkumné otázky: Jaký byl vztah mezi sourozenci v průběhu života? K jakým proměnám v sourozeneckém vztahu došlo mezi sourozenci v seniorském věku? Jak vnímají své sourozenecké vztahy lidé seniorského věku?

Abstract:

Master's diploma thesis deals with the sibling relationship of seniors. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and empirical part. First the theoretical part deals with general knowledge of an old age and aging and is supplemented by demographical data of the senior population which are closely linked to the issue of population aging. The next chapter deals with the quality life of seniors which has a direct link to the social relationships of seniors and sibling relationships as well. The following chapter deals with seniors in the context of family relationships. After this chapter I devote to the definition of siblings and its development in the course of life, where special attention gets sibling relationship in old age. The empirical part of this work starts with a description of the methodology of the work and then deals with the analysis of a qualitative research survey which was organized in order to get an answer to the research questions: What was the relationship between siblings during their life? What were the changes in sibling relationship in old age? How do seniors perceive their sibling relationships?
