Teaching the women about the correct breastfeeding technique

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem praktické části bakalářské práce bylo vytvořit a zrealizovat edukační proces na téma edukace žen o správné technice kojení. Dílčím cílem bylo vytvořit vstupní a výstupní znalostní test a zároveň vytvoření edukačního materiálu pro ženy obsahujícího základní informace o technice kojení. Vstupní znalostní test obdržely klientky před vlastní edukací a výstupní znalostní test absolvovaly klientky tři měsíce po edukaci. Metodika: Edukačního procesu se účastnily tři ženy, klientky, hospitalizované na oddělení šestinedělí. Všechny klientky ústně i písemně vyjádřily souhlasné stanovisko s účastí v tomto procesu. Forma edukace byla individuální, probíhala v pokojích účastnících se klientek. Edukace obsahovala jednu edukační jednotku, která byla vedena formou přednášky s praktickými ukázky. V rámci přednášky byly klientkám vysvětleny významy správné vzájemné polohy mezi matkou a dítětem, správné postupy při držení prsu během kojení, popis správného sání dítěte a polohy při kojení. Přednášková část edukace byla úzce provázána s praktickou ukázkou se zaměřením se na správné přiložení dítěte k prsu, držení prsu a správná vzájemná poloha mezi matkou a dítětem. Výsledky: Po třech měsících od samotné edukace došlo k vyhodnocení celého procesu. Jeho výsledkem byly teoretické, a i praktické znalosti klientek v oblasti správné technice kojení. Závěr: Edukační proces je nezbytnou a významnou součástí poskytované péče ve zdravotnických zařízeních. Je nezbytné, aby se v rámci edukačního procesu dostalo každé ženě individuálního a empatického přístupu, s respektem k jejich osobě a potřebnému času k učení.

Abstract:

Objective: The main objective of the practical part of the bachelor's thesis was to create and implement an educational process on the topic of educating women about proper breastfeeding techniques. A partial goal was to create an entry and exit knowledge test and at the same time create educational material for women containing basic information about breastfeeding techniques. The clients received the entrance knowledge test before their own education, and the clients completed the exit knowledge test three months after the education. Methodology: Three women, clients, hospitalized in the postpartum ward participated in the educational process. All clients verbally and in writing expressed their consent to participate in this process. The form of education was individual, it took place in the rooms of the participating clients. The education included one educational unit, which was conducted in the form of a lecture with practical examples. As part of the lecture, the clients were explained the meanings of the correct mutual position between mother and child, the correct procedures for holding the breast during breastfeeding, a description of the correct sucking of the child and the position during breastfeeding. The lecture part of the education was closely linked with a practical demonstration focusing on the correct attachment of the child to the breast, holding the breast and the correct mutual position between mother and child. Results: Three months after the education itself, the entire process was evaluated. Its result was the theoretical and practical knowledge of the clients in the field of correct breastfeeding technique. Conclusion: The educational process is a necessary and important part of the care provided in healthcare facilities. It is essential that, as part of the educational process, every woman receives an individual and empathetic approach, with respect for their person and the necessary time for learning.
