Automotive industry in the Czech Republic – an analysis of component manufacturers and attachment of the topic in a curriculum

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the topic of automotive industry in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of research regarding the classification of industry, location theories and location factors of automotive industry. The practical part of the thesis is divided into two parts, the first analyzing manufacturers and suppliers of components used in automotive industry and the second comparing curricular documents of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and the United States of America. The analytical part of the thesis, regarding manufactures and suppliers of components operating in the Czech Republic, focuses mainly on the location and aim of automotive industry representatives. The analysis is based on data from the CzechInvest database, which provides a sufficient list of all suppliersV , thus covering all manufacturers of automotive components in the Czech Republic. The comparative part of the thesis is based on analysis and subsequent comparison of state-level curricular documents of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and the United States of America. The goal of the analysis is to determine the level of content similarity among the specified curricular documments. The analysis is based on the current versions of individual documents. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes the acquiered results of the performed analyses.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou automobilového priemyslu v Českej republike. Teoretická časť práce je rešeršou literatúry, ktorá sa zaoberá rozdelením priemyslu, lokalizačnými teóriami a lokalizačnými faktormi automobilového priemyslu a tiež vývojom automobilového priemyslu. Praktická časť práce je rozdelená na dve časti, pričom prvá sa zaoberá analýzou výrobcov a dodávateľov komponentov automobilového priemyslu a druhá sa zaoberá porovnaním slovenských, českých a amerických kurikulárnych dokumentov. V analytickej časti práce, ktorá sa zaoberá výrobcami komponentov pôsobiacich na území Českej republiky, je hlavným cieľom predstavenie lokalizácie a zamerania automobilového priemyslu. Pre splnenie cieľa sú použité dáta z databázy CzechInvest, ktorá poskytuje dostatočný zoznam všetkých dodávateľov a tým pokrýva celý sektor výrobcov automobilových komponentov v Českej republike. Porovnávacia časť práce je tvorená analýzou a následným porovnávaním slovenských, českých a amerických kurikulárnych dokumentov štátnej úrovne. Cieľom analýzy je zistiť obsahovú mieru podobnosti medzi kurikulárnymi dokumentami Slovenskej, Českej republiky a USA. Pre analýzu kurikulárnych dokumentov sú použité aktuálne formy vzdelávacích programov. Záver diplomovej práce je zameraný na zhrnutie a popísanie získaných výsledkov predchádzajúcich analýz.
