Virtual Guide through Educational Exhibitions

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou porozumění učivu v souvislostech, schopností kontextualizace a dlouhodobého zapamatování znalostí. V práci jsou navrženy zásady koherenčního modelu výuky, jehož cílem je dosažení soudržnosti (koherence) znalostí o jednotlivostech pomocí sítě sémantických vztahů. Popsána jsou teoretická východiska modelu, kterými jsou prostorové učební strategie, kooperativní vyučování a exkurze v autentickém prostředí s podporou mobilních zařízení. Podle zásad koherenčního modelu výuky byla navržena metodika výuky a vytvořen virtuální průvodce vzdělávacími expozicemi. Virtuální průvodce byl testován během experimentální výuky v Zoo Ostrava s žáky prvního stupně základních škol. Evaluace modelu a virtuálního průvodce se uskutečnila s použitím tří metod: pozorování chování a práce žáků během experimentální výuky, pedagogického experimentu a evaluačního dotazování. Výsledky evaluace prokázaly, že koherenční model výuky a virtuální průvodce vzdělávacími expozicemi na mobilních zařízeních mají pozitivní vliv na porozumění v souvislostech, schopnost kontextualizace a dlouhodobé zapamatování učiva.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with three main issues: understanding of curriculum in context, the ability of contextualization and retention of knowledge in long-term memory. The work first suggests principles based on a coherence model of instruction, which aims to achieve coherence of knowledge of isolated facts through a network of semantic relationships. Then, the theoretical basis of the model is described, including spatial learning strategies, cooperative learning and excursions in an authentic environment supported by mobile devices. A methodology of teaching was designed according to the principles of the coherence model and a virtual guide through educational exhibitions was developed. The virtual guide was tested with pupils of a primary school during an experimental lecture in the Ostrava Zoo. An evaluation of the coherence model and the virtual guide was carried out using three methods: an observation of pupils? behaviour and learning during the experimental lecture, a pedagogical experiment and evaluation of questionnaires. The results of the evaluation proved that the coherence model of instruction and the virtual guide through the educational exhibitions on mobile devices have a positive impact on understanding in context, ability of contextualization and retention of the curriculum in long-term memory.
