Differences in value preferences between permanent and volunteer workers in a selected nonprofit organization

Abstract:

Hlavním záměrem této bakalářské práce je zjistit hodnotové preference dobrovolných a stálých pracovníků ve vybrané neziskové organizaci a zjištění, zda mezi nimi existují nějaké rozdíly. Teoretická část se zabývá rešerší zdrojů a přibližuje téma neziskových organizací, dobrovolnictví, hodnot a propojení jednotlivých oblastí dohromady. V rámci kvantitativního výzkumu byl využit dotazník PVQ-RR, který vychází z revidované Schwartzovy teorie. Z výzkumu vyplývá, že nejdůležitější hodnotou pro obě skupiny respondentů jsou hodnoty benevolence-péče a benevolence-spolehlivost. Statistické testy zjistily významný rozdíl u hodnot požitkářství, moci-dominance a stimulace. Z dat získaných z dotazníků byla formulována doporučení pro vedení neziskové organizace X. Tyto návrhy mohou změnit pohled na práci s dobrovolníky a pracovníky prostřednictvím využití jejich hodnotových preferencí.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to identify the value preferences of voluntary and permanent workers in a selected nonprofit organization and determine whether there are any differences between them. The theoretical part focuses on literature review and introduces the topics of nonprofit organizations, volunteering, values, and their interconnectedness. In the quantitative research, the PVQ-RR questionnaire, based on the revised Schwartz theory of basic values, was used. The research indicates that the most important values for both groups of respondents are benevolence-care and benevolence-dependability. Statistical tests revealed significant differences in the values of hedonism, power-dominance and stimulation. Recommendations for the management of nonprofit organization X were formulated based on the data obtained from the questionnaires. These suggestions could change the perspective on working with volunteers and employees by utilizing their value preferences.
