Germans as Victims in Günter Grass's „Crabwalk”?
Abstract:
This bachelor’s thesis deals with Günter Grass's novel „Crabwalk”, which describes the largest disaster in maritime history with over 9000 dead, including about 5000 children. The thesis asks whether this novel can be understood as a story of Germans as victims of World War II.
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá novelou Güntera Grasse Jako rak, která pojednává o největší námořní katastrofě všech dob. Při potopení lodi Wilhelm Gustloff v lednu 1945 zahynulo přes 9000 osob, z nichž přibližně polovinu tvořily děti. Práce si proto klade otázku, zda tato novela může být chápána jako příběh Němců jako obětí druhé světové války a analyzuje autorův přístup k této problematice.
