Psychological Aspects of Crisis Interventionists' Work in the Police of the Czech Republic

Anotace:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá zkušeností krizových interventů s jejich prací u Policie ČR, a to primárně v oblasti emočních, kognitivních, motivačních aspektů a aspektů psychologických potřeb. Teoretická část práce zprostředkovává poznatky z oblasti psychosociální pomoci, psychologických služeb Policie ČR, ale také představuje vybrané výzkumy relevantní pro oblast psychologických aspektů práce policejních krizových interventů. Výzkumným designem mnohopřípadové studie, za použití interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy provedených rozhovorů s pěti respondenty, bylo identifikováno pět hlavních společných témat: Role – pomáhající; Růst; Náročnost; Motivace pomáhat; Základní psychologické potřeby (autonomie, kompetence a sounáležitost). Tato témata jsou v závěru práce propojena s teoretickými východisky. Kromě limitů studie jsou prezentovány taktéž možnosti budoucího výzkumu a aplikační potenciál.

Abstract:

The master's thesis focuses on the work experience of crisis interventionists in the Police of the Czech Republic, primarily in the emotional, cognitive, motivational aspects and aspects of psychological needs. The theoretical part of the thesis provides an overview of psychosocial help, psychological services in the Police of the Czech Republic, but also presents research relevant to the psychological aspects of the crisis interventionists' work. The research design of the multi-case study, using an interpretative phenomenological analysis of interviews conducted with five respondents, identified five main common themes: Role – helping; Growth; Difficulty; Motivation to help and Basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence and relatedness). These themes are linked to the theoretical framework in the discussion part of the paper. In addition to the limitations of the study, future research opportunities and application potential are presented as well.
