Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Komparace tradičních a moderních (alternativních) vyučovacích metod, používaných ve výuce anglického jazyka“ se zabývá srovnáním tradičních a moderních (alternativních) výukových metod, které jsou užívány ve výuce anglického jazyka. Teoretická část obsahuje definici a možné druhy klasifikace výukových metod, komplexní charakteristiku jednotlivých výukových metod, dále pak klasifikaci a charakteristiku výukových metod využívaných ve výuce anglického jazyka. Pozornost je pak věnována především komparaci jednotlivých vybraných tradičních a alternativních výukových metod využívaných ve výuce anglického jazyka. V empirické části se zabývám komparací vybraných tradičních a alternativních výukových metod z hlediska upevňování jazykových základů, náročnosti učiva, praktického využití cílového jazyka, překonávání jazykových bariér, motivace žáků užívat cílový jazyk a zajímavosti metody pro žáky. Jednotlivé výsledky jsou pak porovnány i z věkového hlediska žáků. Zkoumaný vzorek představují žáci druhého stupně základní školy (pátý a devátý ročník), kteří již ovládají základy anglického jazyka. Na základě principů vybraných výukových metod jsem osobně připravila a vyzkoušela tyto metody v praxi. Pomocí dotazníků jsem pak porovnávala jednotlivé metody. Praktický přínos diplomové práci spočívá v rozboru důležitých faktorů typických pro danou tradiční či alternativní výukovou metodu a doporučení učitelům k čemu přihlédnout při výběru metody v hodinách anglického jazyka, návrhu aktivit k vybraným výukovým metodám a rozboru získaných dat z provedeného šetření. V diplomové práci si kladu za cíl porovnat důležitá fakta typická pro vybrané tradiční a alternativní výukové metody používané ve výuce anglického jazyka a poskytnout tak učitelům informace, které jsou určující při výběru výukové metody pro danou hodinu anglického jazyka.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „The Comparison of Traditional and Recent (Alternative) Teaching Methods in Lessons of English Language” deals with the comparison of traditional and recent (alternative) teaching methods that are used in the English lessons. The theoretical part consists of definitions and possible classifications of teaching methods, the complex description of particular teaching methods, the classification and the description of teaching methods used in the English lessons. A special attention is paid to the comparison of chosen traditional and alternative teaching methods used in the English lessons. The empirical part deals with the comparison of chosen traditional and alternative teaching methods from the view of the reinforcement of the language basics, demandingness of the curriculum, the practical use of the target language, crossing the language barriers, the pupils’ motivation to use the target language and the interest of the particular teaching method. The outcomes are also compared from the view of the pupils’ age. The research has been done on pupils of upper primary school (5th and 9th grade) who are aware of the basic knowledge of English language. I prepare and tried the chosen teaching methods personally based on the principles and goals of the particular method. The teaching methods were compared thanks to the questionnaires. The practical contribution of the diploma thesis includes the analysis of important facts, which are typical for the particular traditional or alternative teaching method, and the recommendation for teachers what to have on mind when choosing some method for their English classes; the proposal of activities which could be effective when using a particular method in the lessons; and the analysis of the obtained data of the research. The aim of my diploma thesis is to compare the important facts typical for the chosen traditional and alternative teaching methods used in English lessons, in order to provide relevant information for the teachers when choosing the teaching method for a particular English lesson.
