Implementation of a smart contract over a blockchain network

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je implementace chytrého kontraktu s loterijní tematikou nad blockchain sítí. První část má ryze teoretický charakter a věnuje se základním informacím o chytrých kontraktech spolu s technologií blockchain, která zajišťuje kontraktům decentralizaci a důvěryhodnost. Jsou zde vysvětleny důležité principy fungování a charakteristiky chytrých kontraktů, mezi které patří například jejich rychlost, efektivita, redukce nákladů a transparentnost. Jsou zde také uvedeny různorodé příklady aplikací chytrých kontraktů, se kterými se již můžeme setkat. Práce dále poskytuje stručnou charakteristiku loterijního prostředí. Nejprve na obecné úrovni a poté zkoumá loterijní hry optikou kryptoměn. Stěžejní částí této práce je pak implementace chytrého kontraktu. Zde je nejprve prezentován návrh zamýšlené funkcionality, ze které vychází logika chytrého kontraktu. Ta je vstupním bodem pro samotnou implementaci programového kódu na blockchainu Ethereum pomocí jazyka Solidity. V této části je kód důkladně vysvětlen a okomentován. Dále je chytrý kontrakt publikován a otestován. Nejprve pomocí Unit testů a následně skrze systémové testy. Ty se skládají z jednotlivých testovacích případů, které testují nejprve správnost definovaných restrikcí a poté celkovou funkcionalitu, která umožňuje provoz loterijní hry.

Abstract:

The main objective of this thesis is the implementation of a smart contract with a lottery theme over a blockchain network. The first part is purely theoretical and deals with basic information about smart contracts, together with blockchain technology, which ensures decentralization and credibility of contracts. It explains the important operating principles and characteristics of smart contracts, such as speed, efficiency, cost reduction and transparency. There are also various examples of smart contract applications that we may already encounter. The thesis also provides a brief description of the lottery environment, at the general level at first and then examines lottery games through the optics of cryptocurrencies. The main part of this thesis is the implementation of a smart contract. Here, the proposed functionality is first presented, on which the logic of a smart contract is based. This is the entry point for the actual implementation of the program code on the Ethereum blockchain using the Solidity language. In this section, the code is thoroughly explained and commented on. Furthermore, the smart contract is published and tested, first through Unit tests and then through system tests. These consist of individual test cases, which first examine the correctness of the defined restrictions and then the overall functionality that allows the operation of the lottery game.
