Study of processes in gliding arc plasma

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je věnována diagnostice klouzavého výboje pomocí optické emisní spektroskopie a záznamu elektrických dat z jednotlivých částí obvodu. Nemalá část práce se také zaměřuje na numerické výpočty simulující plazmochemické procesy ve výbojovém kanálu a proudění plynu ve výbojové komoře. Mezi nejdůležitější výsledky zde patří určení voltampérové charakteristiky výboje společně se statistikou výskytu mikrovýbojů provázejících zapálení hlavního výbojového kanálu. Následuje určení koncentrace elektronů pomocí několika metod, výpočet excitační teploty argonu a rotačních a vibračních teplot přítomných molekul OH a N2. Vytvořené simulace nám podávají přehled o časovém vývoji hustoty elektronů a elektrického pole v mezielektrodovém prostoru a~popisují rychlost proudění plynu společně s rozložením teplot ve výbojové komoře.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the diagnostics of the gliding discharge including the optical emission spectroscopy and the electrical data processing. Considerable part of the thesis is also focused on numerical computations that simulate the plasmochemical processes in the discharge channel and the gas flow in the chamber. One of the main results is the determination of the volt-ampere characteristics of the discharge and occurrence statistics of the microdischarges accompanying ignition of the main discharge channel. It is followed by the electron density determination using different methods, computation of the excitation temperature and the rotational and vibrational temperatures of present molecules OH and N2. Furthermore, the theoretical simulations give us an overview about the time evolution of the electron density and electrical field in-between the electrodes and they describe the gas flow velocity field together with the temperature distribution in the discharge chamber.
