Počas integrácie produktov tretích strán je nutné implementovať rozhranie, ktoré musí splňovať definovaný kontrakt. Kontraktom označujeme dohodu medzi tvorcom rozhrania a jeho používateľom. Nesplnenie kontraktu môže spôsobiť nedefinované správanie. Sprístupnením systému ďalším vývojárom vzniká riziko narušenia daného kontraktu.
