Geomorphological mapping and analysis of fluvial sediments in the Černá Ostravice valley (Moravskoslezské Beskydy)

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením toku Černé Ostravice především z pohledu fluviální geomorfologie. Použil jsem zde vybrané metody a postupy, které se v této vědecké disciplíně využívají. Cílem bylo popsat jednotlivé fluviální formy jak v korytě, tak v jeho okolí a zakreslit je do mapy. Stěžejní částí této práce je analýza fluviálních sedimentů v údolí Černé Ostravice, která se snaží poznat a pochopit vývoj jednotlivých sedimentačních forem v zájmovém území. Po komplexní analýze sedimentů jsem uvedl také chronologický model vývoje údolního dna. Dalším cílem bylo porovnat současný stav povodí Černé Ostravice s historickými podklady, kterými jsou mapa stabilního katastru a literární zdroje zachycující dávnější historii. V závěru práce je uvedeno potvrzení hypotézy menšího rozsahu lesní vegetace v historii a tudíž zvýšená eroze na svazích v povodí, která mohla způsobit zvýšenou akumulaci materiálu na povrchu v nivě díky nadbytku jemnozrnného sedimentu v toku.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis presents evaluation of the Černá Ostravice river primarily from the fluvial geomorphology view. Certain methods and techniques that are generally used in this scientific field are described in theoretical part of the thesis. The aim of study was to describe the single fluvial forms in river bed and its surroundings and to register them into the map. The main part of this work is dedicated to analysis of fluvial sediments in the valley of the Černá Ostravice river and tries to characterize and comprehend evolution of unique forms of sedimentation in selected area. The chronological model of river bed evolution follows complex sediments´ analysis. Further goal of the thesis was comparison between present state of the Černá Ostravice catchment and historical sources such as map of stable land register and written documents recording distant history. In conclusion, the hypothesis about lower extent of forest vegetation and hence higher erosion rate in catchment slopes which could cause higher deposition of matter in fluvial plain due to abundance of fine-coarsed sediments in flow is confirmed.
