History and contemporary situation in cynology in Britain and in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis tries to depict the development of cynology in Britain and in the Czech Republic and compare the dog keeping and breeding tradition in both countries. The work consists of five chapters, which describe history of cynology in chronological order, from canine domestication in the prehistory through the early historical age, the Middle Ages and the modern historical period until the present time; the last chaptersummarises the pieces of information from the previous chapters and points out the most important differences and similarities in the history of cynology in both countries.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se snaží zachytit vývoj kynologie v Británii a České republice a porovnat tradici chovu a šlechtění psů v obou zemích. Práce se skládá z pěti kapitol, které chonologicky popisují historii kynologie od domestikace psa v pravěku, přes ranou historii, středověk, novověk až po současnost. Poslední kapitola shrnuje informace z předcházejících kapitol a poukazuje na rozdíly a dodrobnosti v historii kynologie v obou zemích.
